Oracle Technologies Developer (Full-Time)
To design, develop and support applications for external clients using Oracle Technologies specifically Oracle RDBMS, PL/SQL, Oracle Forms and Reports. Experience in Microsoft technologies (C#, ASP.NET, Sql Server) would also be an advantage, although not essential.
The role will also involve mentoring junior developers as well as building and maintaining relationships with clients.
This is an interesting and varied role with exposure to a range of projects and technologies in a friendly, open atmosphere.
Report to: Development Manager
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Develop applications for installation on customer sites using Oracle Technologies, specifically PL/SQL, Pro*C and Oracle forms and Reports.
Support existing applications that are hosted both on and off site.
Monitoring and enforcing adherence to company development standards.
Prepare documentation for projects including but not limited to impact assessment, design specification, functional specification, technical specification and installation guides.
Conducting code reviews of others code and reporting outcomes to the development manager.
Meet/communicate with external customers to build and maintain relationships, an element of this may involve travel to client sites.
Planning and Organisation
Produce accurate estimates of development effort required for a particular task in conjunction with the Development Manager and the Customer Account Manager.
Prioritise own workload and manage work times in conjunction with the Development Manager. (Note that part of the work load is reactive, particularly for events that happen outside normal hours and in emergencies.)
