Compliance Manager

Kier Stoke are currently recruiting for a Compliance Manager to ensure the business develops and maintains the required compliance and quality standards within approved budgets, in compliance with appropriate legislative controls and within the policies of Kier.

You will contribute to the strategic development, process management and business performance of the compliance monitoring systems within the gas, electrical and WAH teams.
Your flexibility and the ability to be able to travel within the local area and on a regional / national basis as and when required is essential. You must be Gas Registered with experience in Gas Auditing. A 17th edition electrical qualification/skills & experience is essential. Knowledge of Health and Safety is paramount.

Skills / Knowledge:
Member / working towards Chartered Institute of Building membership
Good understanding of workplace Health and Safety legislation (including COSHH, IEE, CDM and Building Regulations), financial and HR working practices
Demonstrate leadership and influence beyond own team
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to build a positive team culture and relationships which increases commitment and performance within team
Ability to seek new ideas and shape these to suit the business
Able to provide strong, consistent and flexible leadership skills
Ability to break down a problem and devise an action plan
Ability to manage resources to improve the service through effective prioritisation
Ability to establish and deliver the service in accordance with client and customer requirements
Ability to manage difficult situations
Ability to use IT programmes effectively.
Ability to think, perform and engage others at a strategic level
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to new circumstances
Ability to work to tight deadlines

Experience / Qualifications / Training:

Essential:
Experience in the development of compliance and quality systems.
Understanding of the importance of compliance on the gas, electrical and WAH sections.
Management qualification at NVQ4 or equivalent
Relevant H&S qualifications (SMSTS/IOSH)
Experience of managing and leading a team, including the development of employees
Experience of working to deadlines and being able to meet targets
Experience of customer focused service delivery
Proven ability in effective budget management
Experience on working on domestic and commercial installation

Desirable:
First Aid certificate
Understanding of electrical / gas and WAH compliance processes and procedures.
Electrical Qualifications to industry standard
Gas Qualifications to industry standard
WAH Qualifications proven competence to carry out work using the equipment listed : mobile towers / Zarges platform / podium steps / TETRA system for Ladder use / Harness
